SACE Earth and Environmental Science Implementation Workshop 28/2/2020 - Bookings Open

This free workshop has been fully funded by the sponsors. There are no fees but booking is required for catering purposes.

Presenters:

Presenters will include EES course writer and EES teacher Kelly Sharrad (DE), Julian Marchant (NRM Education Officer), who will describe opportunities for student studies in SA National Parks, Peter Reeve (PhD candidate Flinders University), about opportunities at the Oaklands Wetland, Dr Francesca McInerney (University of Adelaide), on teaching about climate change, and Robyn Pillans (SACE Curriculum Officer), who will provide an update about the EES curriculum and answer questions about SACE and assessment matters.

Key Topics:

The focus of this workshop will be on practical aspects of teaching EES, including but not limited to:

· Perusing a range of prepared Stage 1 assessment tasks and worksheets

· considering ideas for the Stage 2 externally assessed: Earth Systems Study,

· developing a Learning and Assessment Plan (LAP) for your class,

· networking with other EES teachers,

· sharing your ideas with others, and

· asking questions of the presenters, writers and the SACE Curriculum Officer

Intended Audience: Stage 1 and Stage 2 science teachers and science coordinators in schools offering EES, and any other teachers who may be interested in teaching EES in the future.
