Highbury Primary School

Highbury Primary School  is situated in the north-eastern foothills of Adelaide. The school has an enrolment of between 540 and 560 children and offers a broad-based curriculum. The Australian Curriculum is the basis of all teaching programs. Our current strategic directions include the teaching and learning of Intellectual Challenge, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics and Information and Communication Technologies. Specialist teaching is offered in Science, Music, Chinese (Mandarin) and the Performing Arts.

We place a high emphasis on achieving personal best, offering students opportunities to enter the Oliphant Science awards along with the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) independent skills-based assessments with a competition element.

We are a registered as an AuSSI-SA school (Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative- South Australia), the aim being to develop a culture of continuous improvement in sustainability practices.

Student led forums in the areas of the Environment, Well-Being, Special Events, Early Years, and ICT provide students from Reception to Year 7 the opportunity for a legitimate voice within their school community.
